Electronics and Communication Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the Institution during 2011. It is one of the Prestigious and Core department in the Institution, offering a UG program with an intake of 54 students and PG program in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems with an intake of 16. It is also a recognized “Research Center” by VTU. The department is headed by Dr. Sharanbasappa Shetkar. The department is strengthened with 3 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 7 Assistant Professors, and 2 Technical staff. The department has well-equipped laboratories with state-of-art infrastructure, a department library, and internet facilities. The ECE department aims to lead the way in research and higher education while developing innovative solutions to societal problems.
M1: A Centre of excellence for technology, training, teaching and research with the goal of producing elite electronics and communication engineers to benefit society and the country.
M2: To instill a spirit of entrepreneurship, professional ethics and values that meet the needs of society and industry.
M3: To build a technical workforce by regularly planning workshops, expert talks and Industrial Visits.
M4: To facilitate students with opportunities to hone their ethics & leadership potential for their better future.
The graduates of electronics and communication engineering will:
PEO I: Impart foundational knowledge in electronics and communication engineering that will help them in their future professional endeavors and academic pursuits.
PEO II: Acquire in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of electronics and communication engineering in order to develop new products and solve engineering challenges in a way that is both technically sound and socially acceptable.
PEO III: Encourage multidisciplinary work environment, make use of their expertise abilities and resources to design, create and develop novel technologies as well as to come up with inventive and creative solutions to engineering challenges.
PEO IV: Develop a mindset of continuous learning by implementing new theories and technological advancements as their area changes.
PEO V: Provide ability to lead and communicate well in order to collaborate with a variety of teams and to uphold and implement morally sound behavior.
PSO I: Apply differential integral calculus in mathematics, science and engineering principles specific to electronics and communication engineering.
PSO II: Apply the knowledge of electronics and communication engineering principles in VLSI. Signal Processing, Communication, Embedded Systems, Control Engineering, Software and Hardware Programming.
PSO III: Conduct experiments, analyse and interpret data, use modern tools in the field of electronics and communication engineering. Demonstrate the leadership qualities and strive for the betterment of organization, environment and society.
